Shatter is a tactical 3x3 grid-based battler built with Odin and Raylib. The game is in a prototype state. The core mechanics are there but content and polish are still minimal. 

Controls:

  • Drag & drop or click cards to play the.
  • Right-click to cancel card selection.
  • Hover on units to get more info about their abilities

Gameplay:

  1. Starting Party: Choose from 3 starting groups (Iron Legion, Shadow Pack, or Arcane Circle) and expand your roster in the shop between fights.
  2. Play Cards: Each turn, drag cards from your hand into the combo queue. Cards add colored symbols (Primal, Arcane, Divine, Shadow, Iron, Chaos) to a shared sequence.
  3. The Combo Queue: The queue holds up to 10 symbols. When a unit's required symbol sequence appears, their ability triggers automatically and those symbols are consumed. Chain multiple combos in a single turn for devastating effects. If the queue fills up with no combos triggered, it flushes and resets.
  4. Surge: Triggering combos builds your Surge counter. Each burst match adds +1 Surge. Surge grants +5 damage and +5 block to all abilities for each Surge stack. Playing a card costs 1 Surge, and Surge halves at the start of each turn. 
  5. Survive and Expand: After each victory, earn gold to buy new units or re-roll the shop. Face increasingly difficult encounters as you progress.
